  1. So, since you've decided to have long pre-streams at the start of every stream where you talk about things going on and read donations, why not make it better?

Instead of displaying the generic "todays stream starts soon"-images back and forward, why not just use the feed from the webcam? Almost every streamer has a special obs-scene for pre-stream/talking, and it makes sense. It can't be very engaging for anyone to sit and watch "stream starts soon" for an hour.

  2. No shit, hasn't it been like this for years?

Stream is supposed to start at X time.

He starts the stream like 15 minutes after X due to something going wrong.

Pre-prestream goes on for 20 minutes.

Pre-stream goes on for 40 minutes.

    Gameplay starts.

  3. People telling you exercise is the best way to lose weight don't know what they're talking about. For a general healthy lifestyle, exercise is very important, but if your goal is simply to lose X amount of weight, diet is going to be the most important. Just calculate your TDEE (how many calories daily you consume), and stay below it. That's it. People making weight loss harder than it actually is is the reason so many won't start doing it.

  4. Interest rates going up isn't very likely. Phil says in the video, that he probably shouldn't talk about this. "I could tell you, but it's probably not going to make sense to you."

What part of interest rates going up won't make sense, or is not good to disclose?

I am a former top-level player in Street Fighter 2 and there is TONS of factual evidence to back it up. Those who cannot accept that, and take my word for it when something goes awry in USF2 (like tons of input drops or frame skips) shouldn't even bother watching me play it, then. The game is incredibly flawed when played online, and I'm going to rage if something happens that I KNOW should not have happened, and people SHOULD take my word for it. Or else what's the point of even watching? Why watch someone play a sport if you believe they suck at it? It's a fruitless effort and a waste of time.

I think you answered your own question:

As for entertainment value, I have no idea. I'm sure there are some who like it more, and others who hate it, and just want to see me play calmly. Everyone likes something different.

What you report them over?  Pretty sure the discussion of what pertains to "Fair Use" is rather pertinent if you're talking about reporting videos.

Here's a good example of EULA for games pertaining to SquareEnix:

(TL;DR: You own the right to USE the games, but we don't, in fact, OWN the game)

    OWNERSHIP

You agree and acknowledge that all title, ownership rights, and intellectual property rights connected with the Game Software and any and all copies thereof (including but not limited to any derivative works, titles, computer code, themes, objects, characters, character names, stories, dialogs, catch phrases, locations, concepts, artwork, graphics, animation, sounds, musical compositions, audio-visual effects, text, screen displays, methods of operation, moral rights, “applets” incorporated into the Game Software, and any related documentation) are owned by Square Enix or its licensors.

    LICENSE CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS

    ...

    (e) sell, rent, lease, license, distribute, upload to any Internet server or web site, or otherwise transfer any portion of this Game Software or any copies without the express prior written consent of Square Enix. Notwithstanding the foregoing, you may permanently transfer all of your rights and obligations under the License to another person for non-commercial use by physically transferring the original Game Software media (e.g., the CD-ROM or DVD you purchased), all original packaging and all manuals or other documentation distributed with the Game Software; provided, however, that you permanently delete all copies and installations of the Game Software in your possession or control, and that the recipient agrees to the terms of this Agreement. You shall be solely responsible for any taxes, fees, duties, withholdings, charges and assessments that may be due in connection with such transfer.

It doesn't matter what it says in the EULA. A game's EULA doesn't supersede the fair use in copyright laws. Copyright laws in regards to video games and let's plays are a huge gray area, and everyone who says that it 100% is or isn't covered has no idea what they're talking about.

You seriously revive a thread from february?

And no, neither LPs or TIHYDP are fair use. Nintendo or any company can take it down if they want and the transformative argument doesn't work when you're using such a large amount of copyrighted content.

Got any sources for those claims? Because that sounds like made up bullshit my dude.

The point is, I'm now getting massive feedback that these playthroughs aren't appealing anymore because I've played SO MANY of this style of game, and that people are actually WITHHOLDING from pledging to my Patreon because every single time I do this monthly event reward, it ends up the same style of game wins.

Well, you must understand there is a reason for this happening. The patron following you have managed to cultivate have for reasons unknown taken to favor you playing these sort of games. If people are withholding their pledges because other games can't win, then you have to anticipate that an even larger group of people will now withhold their pledges instead because the games they want to see are banned.

  9. I'm all for politics talk. Since when did DSP shy away from something out of fear for backlash? He gets backlash every day about something. People here always make politics out to be some SUPER SCARY controversial thing that you can never talk about unless you're "informed", when in reality, 90% of Youtuber's talking about politics are uninformed, 99% of people consuming politics are uninformed. No one gives a fuck if you're uninformed, they only care about your conclusions and political stances.

  10. I'm watching the podcast, and I noticed an entire segment is about what games he's gonna play in the coming weeks. I think you can find more interesting stuff to talk about, especially considering this sort of talk is always covered in the week in preview, and also sometimes in the pre-streams. Plus, hearing what games someone is going to play in the future isn't very exiting.

I would suggest, if you can't find more interesting topics, then either increase the length of the other topics, or make the podcast shorter.
