Superman: Last Son of Krypton - Review

The Positives:

  • The writing by Geoff Johns and Richard Donner (the director of the 1978 Superman movie) is fantastic.  The story was unique, interesting, and compelling.  For those interested, the premise of the story is as follows: After stopping a spaceship from crash landing in Metropolis, Superman discovers a little boy inside the spaceship.  The boy is then taken to S.T.A.R. Labs where he develops powers and abilities similar to Superman.  During his time at S.T.A.R. Labs, Superman develops a close bond with the boy.  Superman, and his wife, Lois Lane, then adopt the boy and name him Christopher.  However, Superman then finds out that Christopher is the biological son of one his most fiercest foes, General Zod.
  • Adam Kubert's artwork is beautiful.  The character designs and models were drawn beautifully.
  • The action & fights throughout the comic were awesome.

The Negatives/Nitpicks:

  • None.  I absolutely loved the story through and through.

Overall: Superman: Last Son of Krypton is IMO one of the best Superman stories out there.  This story should be adapted in a future DC animated film.

Grade: A+

  1. Not sure I understand what you mean there.
  2.  Agree
  3. I agree, however, there is now way they will cover ALL the characters that have joined the X-Men
  4. 100 percent agree
  5. 100 percent agree X-Men V Avengers. Make it happen.
  6. LOL, I hear, ya, but that is definitely going to happen. IMO
  7. Agree
  8. Sure
  9. True, but I think marvel will try to push a MutantsLivesMatter theme with it, so some of them probably will not have anything to cover their faces. I expect body armor though
  10. 100 percent agree

Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix were portrayed not great

Superman: Brainiac - Review

The Positives:

  • The writing by Geoff Johns is absolutely fantastic and brilliant.  The story was interesting, compelling, and emotional at certain points.  The premise of the story is pretty much Superman's first official encounter with Brainiac in Post Crisis continuity.
  • The action and fights in the comic were awesome.
  • Gary Frank's artwork is amazing.  I love how he draws Superman to resemble Christopher Reeve, the actor who played him in the movies back during the '70s and '80s.

Negatives:

  • None.  I absolutely enjoyed this story.

Overall: Superman: Brainiac is arguably IMO one of the best Superman stories out there.

Grade: A+

For my list, I'd have only one team, since I haven't read many comics of that sort.

It would be the one from "The Boys".

I know I read the article regarding the DCEU films.

Hopefully the Shazam! sequel does better in the box office than the first.
