Ask the King Ep. 59 - TBD April 2016

Hey phil, you've probably posted it elsewhere, but what settings do you use in OBS to stream?

Also have you decided what faction, race/class you're going to choose for WoW?

You have a 6 core Intel CPU correct? It's still one of the best around, not much slower than modern stuff like a 5820K CPU. Most in game graphical settings will affect your GPU and not your CPU, you can also go into windows settings and limit the number of threads WoW uses, it's not too hard to run so you could probably limit it to 2 cores.

You just go into your task manager, find the process for WoW, right click, and hit set affinity, then just leave it 4 cores or so, and if your fps is still really high in game drop it to 2 or 3, that frees up cores for OBS to use.

Probably just need to drop your bit rate, or reduce the output resolution to 720p or 900p. You PC should really have no problems streaming games.

Also here's a suggestion list for add ons to use, to install an addon just go to the world of warcraft folder, and drop it in under Interface -> Add Ons

Also whatever you do, don't play on a PvP server, and I'm not sure if there are privacy options to hide your character's realm location so people don't constantly annoy you as you play

Hunter or warlock is the easiest class to level on, Though Shaman or Druid(in particular) will let you experience being a healer/caster/melee damage dealer, and a druid would let you also be a tank if you wanted to experience all the different roles, though you'd still need gear for each role and Engineering is easily the most fun profession.

Replaces your action bars and lets you easily set hot keys to bars and completely rearrange and customize your bars

Hey Phil have you ever gambled at the casinos? What did you play? How much money have you won/loss? And what advice would you give to someone who has a gambling addiction? Thanks

Hi Phil, for the last couple attempts of Street Fighter V , we have seen you struggle with the online connections time and time again, be it matchmaking, or the rollback in the actual fights. With this being the case, it is easy to see how off putting it can be to both play and watch street fighter. Being a big fan of street fighter (much thanks to you) i can't hope but wonder if there is any hope in you playing versus fans in a online battle lounge lobby. Do you forsee this being an issue for such an event to happen? If not, any idea of a perfect time for this to take place?

Hey Phil, have you ever seen Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist and/or Street Fighter: Resurrection? You were the one who got me into fighting games back in 2009 and I would love to hear what a longtime fan of Street Fighter like yourself thinks of these live-action films. I think both are fantastic, particularly due to them being very faithful to the source material, and I highly recommend them.

I'll add a little more info on what these two films are (and it's your choice whether or not read this part in the video if you answer this question). Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist was released two years ago and is hailed as one of the best movie adaptations of a video game (possibly THE best, considering how awful a lot of its competition is). Taking place as a prequel to the events of the Street Fighter series, Assassin's Fist focuses on Gouken's training of Ryu and Ken, plus Gouken's past catching up to him in the form of Akuma. The characters are all perfectly rendered and the fight scenes are expertly done. (Ken and Akuma in particular look like they leapt right out of the games. You gotta see this thing, man.) If you haven't seen it, it's available on Netflix and Hulu.

Street Fighter: Resurrection is the official prequel to Street Fighter V. Much shorter than Assassin's Fist and currently only available on go90 as a four-part series, Resurrection acts as a lead-in to the yet-to-be-released cinematic story mode of SF5. It rejoins Ryu and Ken as they are unexpectedly assaulted by Nash and roped into a situation involving Shadaloo. It's a bit frustratingly short, IMO, but what's there is still great, and it'll tie into SF5… somehow.

Anyway I think these are video game movies done right, and I don't recall you ever mentioning seeing them.

Phil what do you think about the "Playstation 4.5"(a stronger PS4) that is supposedly in the works. Should Sony be releasing another console which is a direct upgrade so soon?

Hey Phil would you consider playing The Punisher for PS2/Xbox/PC its one of the funnest/goriest PS2 games I ever played and you'd have a blast playing it, also would you play any of the Destroy All Humans trilogy on PS2/Xbox where you get to play as an alien who uses an anal probe to steal peoples brains the series has a dark humour to it that would suit your commentary perfectly the third one in the series is on PS3/Xbox360 so thats probably easier to get I know you cant do these playthroughs at main stream time but I think they'd be perfect for a downtime playthrough which would lead to many hilarious moments and be a big hit on the channel  so if you missed out on these classics please consider giving them a go you wont regret it.

PS. many thanks for all the enjoyment you've given me so far and keep up the amazing work.

Phil, I don't believe I've ever heard of you address your cameo appearance in Schnoz-man & Hole-punch. I wanted to know what were your experiences with being in it and I also wanted to ask what are your personal pros and cons of the series?

Okay so I am curious. The Ratchet & Clank Video Game is based on the upcoming movie. The game seems to be showing too many cutscenes. It's like their showing most of the movie so what is the point in your viewers seeing the film if they have already watched the play through?

My final question is, what are your opinions on the new Power Rangers movie coming out next year. You have mentioned before that you were a fan of the series. What do you think about the studio choosing to go with brand new actors rather than using people whom are famous (except for Elizabeth Banks playing Rita Repulsa)?

Dear Phil, what do you think about the new Angry Birds movie? Do you think it will stand out among other video game adaptions? Or will it slingshot to its death?

Now that Deadpool: The Movie is out on Digital HD, what do you hope for in the sequel? What do you think about rumored Cable being in the film and who do you think should play him?

What are your opinions on the upcoming Rated R Batman: The Killing Joke being Mark Hamil's last time voicing The Joker?

And my final question is, do you think the Rated R extended release of Batman Vs Superman would change anyones review? Do you think it could fill in plot holes? Or do you think its just a waste of time? Will you be watching this version?

Hi DSP,

I just wanted to say that just recently I've found myself dipping into your content again and I'm really enjoying what I'm seeing. There's a visible upturn in the effort and quality of the content being provided. I'd love to see more stuff on KOGaming in the form of montages, being the fact that I'm often really busy with work and don't have time to watch your DSPGaming videos in full. I skim through quite a lot and I would hope that the view counts! Hopefully soon you will be ahead of the Youtube curve finally instead of chasing it!

My question is this. Yesterday you mentioned someone suggesting a "Second Return to Dark Souls 1" as a playthrough idea, and you voiced your interest in it. It made me think. With this return to form, it might be interesting to revisit titles from your golden years: I think of games like Heavy Rain, Dead Space, Arkham Asylum and Singularity. However, what were the playthroughs that you remember as having the most fun making? That's the stuff we want to see.

Cheers!

Hey Phil,

What is your opinion on the original Superman quadrilogy compared to the newer films, the Salkinds' decision of replacing Richard Donner on Superman II, and the direction they took the franchise with Superman III?

Thanks for reading and hopefully answering my questions.

Dear DSP,

I have been a fan of yours for quite some time, and even decided to contribute to your patreon account, regardless what my family said when I did it. However, my question is when I tried to help you in the stream chat on several occasions, somebody ends up trolling you to the point where I can't a word in edgewise, and starts giving me problems. Then, when I get sick of it and leave the chat to watch you play on your own, someone comes along saying the things I said first, then they are given credit for work I was just happy to do, because I hate seeing you struggle with a new game. So, could you ask your fans, and moderators to watch out for this problem in the future?

Sincerely, Crash#13 (a.k.a. Brad)

Howdy Phil, Shaquille Oatmeal here

What's your opinion on how Nintendo is handling the NX and WiiU situation this year? They have decided to launch the console WW in March, 2017 because they want to "make sure there are games to go along with it". They've also decided to not share any news on the NX at E3, but instead hold their own event later in the year, which I think is smart because you want to generate hype closer to the launch. On the other hand, E3 could have a wider reach and give the NX more publicity if they went down that route.

Personally, I think they're making a big mistake in missing the holiday season. There's a reason very few consoles in NA don't launch at that period. Launching during the holiday season could mean a very big boost to sales.

On the WiiU front, I think delaying Zelda to 2017 to coincide with the NX launch might make this year look even more barren than 2015. In fact, Nintendo is projecting only 800K WiiU's sold for the next fiscal year.

It just seems like a poorly thought out situation altogether. I was wondering what your opinion on it was and if you think launching the NX in March could have heavy repercussions for Nintendo's next big console.

Hey Phil,

I`m currently a Sophomore that attends a community college and I`m about to transfer to a University after I receive my AA. Since I`ll be attending a university and living on campus for my last two years. My question is do you have any advice for any incoming students that are going to attend a university and live on campus and what do you think about student loans and do you think its worth me getting it just to live on campus (I`ll only be getting student loans for room and board/food. Tuition and books are already payed for).

Thank you,

- A long time fan
