Does Phil just have bad Karma?

You once called him a "cock sucking motherfucker" and that he's "an asshole with no quality". Pretty sure that counts as personal insults.

Don't forget saying on more than one occasion that he wanted to punch him or that in the beginning of the video about the ads, he said jealousy was a factor in it.

Responding to this a lot better though (Not make making videos, getting into twitter arguments , etc) .

Agreed. Phil is reacting to this better than he has in the past. The thing with AlphaOmegaSin was this year too, so it's been a quick improvement.

This thread is stupid. Basically saying Phil deserves everything that happens to him even if it's not directly related to something he did. Like how something in the game is karma. What? If we we were talking about the direct consequences of something Phil did that would be different.

While TrueForm did indeed get their initial question answered from doing some research and even said that the thread could be closed now, I wouldn't call it stupid and I definitely don't see anyone saying that Phil deserves everything that happens to him. TrueForm did say that what happened with GradeA was deserved based on Phil's actions against Tobuscus in the past, but that was a single incident, not everything. As for the initial idea that was proposed, I wouldn't call it karma, but more the idea of God having a dark sense of humor based on how these events coincide. I do think that you inevitably reap what you sow and unfortunately, Phil has sown a lot of things that a lot of different people don't like. Not weighing in on whether it is deserved or not, since I'm no moral judge, but the fact still remains that all of our actions have consequences.

Yeah I was referring to the choice of the word karma. Not entirely sure if that's what he intended though.

Divine retribution is entirely what I meant by karma

How you view phil has very much to do with the spin you are putting on it. Since I have just been here since January I don't have any detailed knowledge of the blunders he did in the past I view him quite positively. Most of what people hold against him belongs in the past. It is okay to talk about it, But frankly it is not as relevant anymore. Doing like true form and fanfare it like a giant gotcha! Is pretty lame.

If someone attacks him he should defend himself from baseless accusations, or explain his perspective on things. Simply ignoring something negative don't make it go away. And trolls burst in the sun. So does their meanings and stupid words. Phil does not have bad karma, he just have a squad of wannabe internet tough guys like true form who prides them self of the acolytes of putting a negative spin on everything he does.  Because if he does something good, or positive it is always ignored, or made to look as bad as possible.

He is in no way perfect but he is not "The ultimate videogame asshole"  as some people try to portray him. and as a community that has a genuine interest of helping him, he needs constructive criticism not mocking.  And remember Phil is an entertainer. Not a virtuos genius that have to be the guiding star of humanity. Even though he is to me. phil fanart.jpg

My big concern is if he can take the criticism. I haven't been here a full month and I've seen Phil over-react more than once. This very thread shows him calling people mentally ill kids. (Not cool Phil. Not cool)

What criticism exactly has taken place in the situation of this thread? Nothing.

It's not cool for those kids to be spamming my videos with masturbation jokes, insults, death threats and dislikes. But that's what they've been doing for over 2 days now, since their "idol" made a video slamming me. Mentally sane people don't do that, in any circumstance.

Here, I'll tweet you the following comment 100 times and then spam it on all of your YouTube videos: YOU ARE A FUCKING SCUMBAG! MASTURBATE AND THEN DIE IN A FIRE!

See, CRITICISM! Now you have no right to call me mentally ill for saying that!

.............

You make no logical sense.

I almost agree with you, even though some say things that are considered rude, and antagonizing he should be a bit more based in his comebacks. If it comes across as humorus I don't think it is a problem, but sometimes it looks very bitter, and he should be better than that. However I can not say I have not experienced the overreaction or seen it when people are polite.

I will admit I was wrong about the criticism - mixed my sources. That I'll analogize for.

EDIT: I stand by saying "Mentally ill" as an insult isn't a good idea. Just in general.

FYI, very few people read these forums. Tons more attend my live streams. That's where the info needs to be relayed. You won't hear me addressing it again without good reason.

Didn't you talk about it again in pre-stream today? When you said you wouldn't address it again without good reason, did that apply to the whole week, as in talking about it in pre-stream multiple days only counts as addressing it once? I'm legitimately confused on that now since I thought you just meant yesterday.

About that good reason and needing to relay the info:

I mentioned why I'd have negative comments and downvotes for a week or so, and that it's happened before...

Does the viewer really need to know this? Like I got to thinking about it and your reason doesn't really make much sense. Please allow me to explain. First off, you are saying this during a pre-stream which means that you are talking to the people who are watching you live, so obviously they aren't going to see any of the comments that show up on the video or any of the dislikes since the likes and dislikes from all of your streams are merged. Then there are the people who tune in after the pre-stream and they won't have heard you warning them about the comments and downvotes, so it's not getting relayed to them. Let's move on to the actual people who watch the videos later. Do a lot of people watch your pre-stream videos? I would guess not, but I don't know. I know I wouldn't if I just wanted to see the gameplay, i'd skip the pre-stream, so let's assume a portion of them don't see the pre-stream and thus the info isn't relayed to them either. Further, how many of the viewers actually pay attention to the comments or likes and dislikes? I'd imagine most viewers don't even bother to look at either. Finally, let's say that they do look at the dislikes and comments, don't you normally get a lot of negative comments and dislikes anyway? Are people really going to notice if there are more than usual and even if they do, are they going to care? Why do they need to be warned specifically in this case? Are you worried that the comments might turn some of your viewers against you, that they might look up your jerking off incident or watch the video GradeA made and then wash their hands of you?

I really don't understand this, Phil.

I don't know if it is true, but I read somewhere that dislikes counts as interaction and makes the video more relevant in youtube searches and such. The comments  do so Ironically the people trying to sabotage him, really does him a favor if it is true.

Every time he get's a mention by someone in a positive or negative way it benefits him. And of course the viewer should know.  He should use it to his advantage. Most people who create content on the internet want's their content seen. Few people have a Zealous attitude and make things for a righteous reason or cause.  It's just stupid, because all people are attention whores. You are pretty smart, and has a good understanding of things. Therefor you understand that everyone likes getting compliments and positive attention.

If you just laugh and take negativity as positive reinforcement, well then you will just be like the cool standup comedian being heckled. Not the bitter guy everyone likes to bully.

Like the Tobuscus situation Phil, you've talked about this in way too many videos. Let it go. Move forward.

yeah whatever. It's not what he talks about but how that is the real issue.

You do realize that not every single person attends every single stream, right?

You do realize that people have the ability to downvote the stream while it's running, right?

You do realize that the same people who leave the nasty comments come into the stream chat (far less, but they still do) during the live streams, right?

I rest my case. I won't be harping on it, but a second mention was very warranted.

Wow.

The spin.

I personally think you should just talk about it in a video, cause you're obviously going to keep incrementally talk about it in prestreams much like you did with Tobuscus. The video has 1.7 million views and potentially another 1.700,000 more people know about your incident on top of all the other videos that has millions of views from it too.

And you would think just off of him mentioning you, you'd get a boost in viewers but that doesn't seem to be the case

Like I said on the first page, I think this is all part of just an ongoing case of divine retribution from everything you use to do in the past that was frowned apon. Not saying its justified or im glad to see it happening, just demonstrates Newtons Third Law applies to more than just physics.

Why?  If it's an insult aren't you wanting to offend your target when you say it?  Judging by the amount of SJW lite outrage that comes out every time Phil says it I think it's a fantastic insult as it works.

Seriously, if that kind of insult offends you deeply then you might want to try staying indoors all the time, or carry on doing that, as there is much worse insults out there.

So how other people on this site think should affect what I say?  I'm only true to my own beliefs not some arbitrary rules somebody else came up with.  Literally nothing is beyond being joked about within reason and I mean everything.

You gotta love how people bring up "SJW" at the drop of a hat nowadays. Remember when that word actually held some meaning?

I could go on to explain how a 34 year old man showing an audience of children that people who disagree with you are "mentally ill" is a bad thing, but something tells me no one on this site cares to hear that. So instead, let me focus on this:

Fair enough. But if you are allowed to stay true to your beliefs, so am I. And I believe Phil using "Mentally Ill" to describe people he doesn't know beyond a single comment is not something a responsible adult should be doing.

What if someone is mentally ill though? Are you not allowed to say it then? Where do you draw the line?

I read in one of these threads that you suffer from autisim.

Phil at one point said the PS4 or PS3 menu (I can't remember) was designed for autistic people, meaning the menu was badly designed and hard to navigate though. Would you be offended by that? Me personally I would think thats crossing the line, you are entitled to your beliefs but just because you strongly believe them doesn't mean you get to walk around and say them unfiltered. I don't think people should walk around with a muzzle to their mouths but you have to at least think about how any other person would feel about the words that are coming out of your mouth.
