Pit Fighter

Recommended Posts

Who here remembers Pit Fighter!

I remember seeing this game, when I was small. And for some strange reason, I still don't like it. But big grown adults, back in the early 90's, strangely loved to spend, lots of tokens on this game.:happy:

When it came to 90's martial arts games, that had digitized actors, Mortal Kombat was more my kinda thing.:cool:

Believe me when I say, I have never played Pit Fighter. Instead, I used my tokens on games, like SF2 Championship Edition, SF2 Hyper Fighting, MK2, Bad dudes, World Heroes 2 and other games.:biggrin:

So have you guys played Pit Fighter? Or did you do like me, and casually avoid it?:laugh:

You'll probably want to kill me after this, but I think "Shaq Fu" might be objectively better than "Pit-Fighter".

@MoraMoria Shaq Fu > Pit Fighter? Interesting.:smile:

I will admit, I haven't heard the name Shaq Fu, in quite a long time. It's really an "out of nowhere" surprise, to hear it again, after so long.:laugh:

If they ever make a new Pit Fighter game, I'm curious to see, how many copies/digital copies, will sell.

If they make a new "Pit Fighter" game, with greatly improved graphics, it will be no longer "Pit Fighter", for its essence lies on the sprite-design and clunkiness.

@MoraMoria Yep. I agree with what you said. Especially the essence part. That is spot on. The retro style sprite designs and clunky animations, are what makes Pit Fighter, Pit Fighter. There are just some things, that can't be replaced.

I get this strange feeling, that Pit Fighter, is going to make a return one day.:tongue:

If they do, they should take the opportunity and hire some popular actors/celebrities for the digitized-sprites. Maybe then, we'll see the fight between Justin Bieber and Tom Cruise.
