Mortal Komat 11 streams

Recommended Posts

Stream is on break and I took this time to post this thread.

1) He read the game skill descriptions so FAST anyone wanting to/trying to learn by watching this would gain absolutely nothing...and I might add that I don't think he did either.

2) Each move being taught was blown through and the next moved on to so fast I doubt any of the information had time to actually sink in for the Viewer or the streamer.

3) Thus, I plan to go back and type out these things so people who want to learn the ins and outs can do so.  Please feel free to add your game insights/knowledge as well.

I thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Who the hell watches DSP to "learn" anything in a fighting game? Learn how to blame a loss on everything but yourself?

Im not a big MK fan but im sure the only way to learn a fighting game is practice, practice, and more practice. The very first thing you must know is to accept and learn from your own mistakes, and im sorry, DSP fails this basic lesson time and time again.

In my opinion, for streaming fighting games, one should spend as little time on the tutorials as possible, and try to 'wing it' on the story/multiplayer-mode. Of course this means that you could end up playing poorly at the beginning, but it makes the stream more dynamic; and learning along the way, even if failing at first, seems to be more fun than the tutorials. This is just my opinion, though.

As for the idea of learning the game skills by watching the stream, (one of the points of the 'OP'), I don't think it's of any considerable importance. If someone owns the game, they'll learn it by playing themselves, or by reading it on a list on the Internet. I don't think a lot of people will be paying attention to the controls/combinations of the character move-list, unless the streamer reveals some undiscovered/rare strategy, which is not going to happen on the tutorials.

Only one person apparently.

This critique is rather niche and isn't really widespread.

GET TO THE CHOPPA.

No, really. Phil played The Terminator like a total scrub. What is the point of going back to MK11 if you are not going to try to learn anything about the character you are playing? And then complain because the Terminator was difficult to play with. A total disaster stream.
