Hi Phil.

Do you still think it's a buyer's market for cars?

I watched Destiny's response regarding your statements, and I think you may be incorrect.

Thanks!

Many gamers who don't live in the state of Washington are amazed by, and perhaps even envious of the amount of gaming and tech companies headquartered in the state.  As a gamer and Washington resident yourself, have you ever had aspirations to take advantage of your location and join one of those companies and potentially put some of your suggestions, wishes, visions and ideas about the gaming industry into effect?

Hey Phil this is gaming question that alot of people might of asked but why is it you almost never do platinum or completionist runs yeah it may take awhile and be annoying but i think you'll feel more rewarding and you can say you did fully complete it especially if it's a short game?

for example i just started doing em and i think it makes it feel more rewarding unless it's online trophies then i put it on hold for now

I've heard you mention this term several times, do you believe in Karma, and also the concept of Saṃsāra while we're at it?

I've been taught that Karma is not quite like having a system of instant reward and punishment where a divine entity judges, but instead, is essentially the laws of cause-effect, in which the intentions of the person matter and influence it naturally. In simple words: If you sow compassion, you'll reap compassion, which can also effect your next life, according to some interpretations, and behaviour motivated by greed, hatred or delusion naturally causes pain to oneself & others, and viceversa. There's a wide number of views on this topic and a lot to cover, but I won't extend myself.

To me, is nothing more than another way for humans to cope with this world's misery, and there's no scientific evidence that good or ill intentions directly effect the outcome of anything just because of the morality of it, specially when we add the subjectivity aspect of what's considered good or bad. In any case, what's your opinion on all of this, I figured I'd ask since you used this term.

Do you ever feel like the gaming landscape is becoming too homogeneous? With a few notable exceptions, it seems like AAA gaming is more focused on providing more of the same.

With Skate 4 coming out several years from now, do you have any desire to do a playthrough of Skate 3 to prep yourself for the upcoming game?

You played Skate 2 in early 2009 and rage quit it, but that game is notorious for its difficulty. When EA made Skate 3, they added easy, normal and hard difficulties and have made it very accessible for brand new players. The game has a definitive story mode with a concrete ending (achieving 1,000,000 board sales which takes about 10 hours total).

It is playable on Xbox One via backwards compatibility and runs fantastic. You can also turn off the music so you won't have any copyright issues.

My Question for Ask the King:

Phil, When you were in elementary school and high school were you always the guy that would always raise your hand up answering questions from the teacher, and were you very social in group discussions/group projects with your friends?

(I'm like that sometimes in school because I like to participate in my classes, but sometimes I would get nervous too). How would you overcome it too?

Hi Phil

First of all, what a year so far! I feel the year 2020 has been a complete reset on so many things for many people so hope you're doing well in all this madness.

My question to you this month is about wrestling:

As a big wrestling fan I have loved your series smark guys. I was wondering in your entire history of watching wrestling what has been your favourite match or feud?

What was it that made that match so special for you and what do you think would make for the greatest wrestling match of all time? (be it WWE or outside i.e AEW, NJPW etc)

Thanks for taking the time to read and if this doesn't make it in then continue having a great show for ask the king!

Cheers

Hey Phil, I've been looking for some new games to play during this pandemic and the Yakuza series/Judgement have come to mind. I have never played any of them or know much about them. My question is how would you describe these games/franchise and who you recommend them too? Also, what games would you say are the best in the franchise?

Hi Phil, i had some questions that i wanted to ask you in the previous "Ask the King" but unfortunately i didn't get my question answered.

So here is my questions that i would like to ask you:

Are you excited about the "Ghost of Tsushima" game as it has a large open world area to explore?

Do you think the launch of the PS5 at the end of the year will be released successfully or delayed due to the coronavirus if it is still spreading at the point?

When was the last time you randomly ran into a fan IRL? Must be exciting to be recognized in public.

I miss 2018 when we had God of War, SpiderMan, and Assassins Creed, RDR2, Detroit Become Human and more. In my opinion, games in the past year and a half have been such a let down with a few good titles here and there. I know you would need to do research to really find the answer, but would you consider 2018 to be one of the best years for game releases in recent memories?

As always....I appreciate your content.  Keep on keeping on...

Long time no see, Phil.

So by now, we're all aware of what happened with EVO. So I'm not gonna ask about that.

My question is the state of fighting games itself. The beginning of this generation felt like there was always some kind of new fighting game coming out. Now, I barely hear anything about fighting games & it's starting to remind me of the pre-SF4 days. Even if I had my issues with EVO Online, it was a good way to get lesser known games attention & even I only registered because Skullgirls was on that list. Between larger fighting games getting bad reps & smaller fighting games having little attention & player bases, does it feel like we're reaching another slump when it comes to fighting games & even if Capcom made another SF or MvC game, can we still trust them considering their recent track record with fighting games?

Phil, I am about to be 28 in 2 weeks and am having somewhat of a crisis about approaching 30. I had a weird quarter life crisis for a little bit when I was 26. Now you're in your late 30s, did you experience this kind of crisis 10 years ago? From a life perspective, what would you have done differently in the past decade and what lessons can you pass onto people in my age group over the next 10 years?

I have two questions that would need an elaboration:

You have been doing Youtube for a while but changed to be a streamer. What prompted you to do that? Can you explain your entire experience with Youtube and Twitch from the beginning until now? I remember you mentioned that Youtube "flipped a switch" and did something in 2016.

Why did you choose Seattle instead of other places in the country? Can you elaborately compare your experience living in Seattle as opposed to Bridgeport? What prompted you to leave Connecticut much earlier instead of later?

Hi Phil,

Thank you for your Last of Us 2 playthrough.

I actually really enjoyed the game although it's certainly not without its faults, and I thought you made some very salient criticisms about it.

You're well known for taking things at face value and giving games a fair chance. However, I noticed that throughout your playthrough there were times in which you were fairly critical about presupposed events that had yet not happened in the story.

Do you think this was merely a projection of your frustrations with the game and the problematic story, or that the over the top outrage and vitriol the game received before it was even released, had some bearing on your expectations?

And might this mean going forward that a backlash against games, and perhaps other forms of media like films, may affect the objectivity of gamers like yourself before you have even had an opportunity to play?

Secondly, just very quickly, I have a suggestion if I may - this month on PS Plus for free is a live action mystery game called Erica, which sounds like the sort of game you do well with. Not expecting you to play it any time soon (I've nominated it for the player's choice), but you may want to download whilst it's free for a potential playthrough in the future.

Out of the many Resident Evil games that you have played, what would be your Top 3?

Is there one that you really hate?

One more question about Resident evil games, have you heard of Resident evil Outbreak? I think it is the most underrated entry to the series, even though it offered co-op and online multiplayer, and the graphics hold up really well for a game released in 2003.

Fun fact: This was my first Resident evil game, and the first videogame I ever played.
