Do you travel?

Recommended Posts

So outside of gaming, school or work do you travel? I suppose this could apply to local or international travel, cases where you are away from home for a few days or weeks much like Phil's staycation this week in Seattle. Feel free to discuss any stories or share pictures below.

When I was younger I visited Hawaii for a week with my mom and sister, we visited a number of famous locations like Pearl harbor.

As some people know I also regularly take trips overseas to Japan every year, typically staying in Yokohama or Tokyo. Here's a couple of pictures from my last trip:

I like road trips. For the past three summers I've driven to Texas for a music fest. Also drove up to New York city for a weekend fest.

It's been two years since I've last gone, but Yosemite National Park in northern California rules so hard.

And December I usually go to Mexico, which is awesome because Mexico is on a whole different level.

I usually go to Seattle or Los Angeles every other month. I have family in both and live in between the two so it's a no brainer. Love both cities! Usually once a year I go back home to New York.

Last summer I went to Great Britain and Italy which were awesome! Absolutely love London since it reminds me so much of Manhattan.

Also went on a booze cruise to Mexico a few years back which was good times!

I really want to go to Germany for Oktoberfest in the next year or two!

I visited relatives in the Philippines with my family when I was really young. I've also been to California, I went there with family when I was a teen. We went to California during winter it was like 45 degrees when we were there, that was the coldest temperature I've ever been exposed to and I didn't like it. It never gets that cold here in Hawaii I don't know how people can live in such cold lol.

Haha, that is like summer to me where I live! When I see 45 on a winter day here, I immediately think, "Summer temperature! Wohoo!"

As for my traveling experience, I visited my relatives in Mexico back in 2006. That was the last time I traveled anywhere outside of the country. Unfortunately, I have no pictures. It has been a while, so some things might have changed, especially after a recent flood in the area I visited.

Places I've been:

  • Western Canada, and Alaska - fishing trip when I was younger
  • Oregon and Washington - visiting grandparents
  • Lake Charles Louisiana - College official visit for basketball. If I would have signed for my scholarship here, I would have been in the middle of the hurricane. It was the hardest hit places Katrina left in her wake.
  • Las Vegas - Several Las Vegas Trips for the big time basketball tournament.
  • Sugarland, Texas - Carmax BIT classes

I will never travel overseas (with the exception of Hawaii) on my own dime. Too expensive for the benefit you get in my opinion. I do envy you though KGhaleon. I've always wanted to go to Akihabara.

Might try and go back to Japan in a few months, not sure yet.

I know some cheap places in Yokohama, so it's fairly easy to access trains and shinkansen connecting to every other city.
